Because they are in a tougher group than expected and beware Angola they are no push overs either they held Mexico to a nil all draw.

Despite the stupid immature answers given by the Americans (no wonder the entire planet hates them) Irans success this year was the fact the managed to qualify for the Word Cup any results Iran get should be irrelevant. Iran have a lot to do if there to become a real force in world football i belive the team lack enough international experience at the highest level , however having been in thiran four years ago to watch Ireland beat Iran in the qualifiers for 2006 the passion Iran have for football is second to none and maybe it will be only a matter of time before they start producing world class players but the youth training and setups have to be right first and the financial investment has to be there to

Iran plays fine, but as a matter of fact, Portugal and mexico are two of the best football teams in the world. Mexico is the 4th in fifa ranking ang portugal is no doubt one of the best football player (as they have Figo, Ronaldo, Deco,Nuno Valente and ....). I still beleive Iran and Korea are the best asian teams. Be sure this group was hard enough and that's why iran didn't score.
Don't forget iran lose to mexico by only persinal mistakes. else, iran may have chance to go to next round.

I honestly wonder if ahmedinejad's not bringing curses to the country, and this is just one manifestation. If they lose to Angola I will seriously believe this is the case.
