As a veteran who has served in S Korea, and studied many facets of warfare. Especially in the asian theater, I can honestly say that N. Korea will launch the missle. That is very likely. Then there are two senerios.
A. The missle will launch and land in the Pacific.
B. The missle will launch and hit a target.
OPTION A: The United States, U.N., China, and Japan will be furious! That will be about it. New sanctions will be imposed where N. Korea will not be allowed to enjoy sunshine (thats about all we have got left to take away).
OPTION B: This one is the tricky on. The final destination of the missle plays a key role. Who gets hit basically. If Japan gets hit then they probally will respond in kind. They do have their own missles. I do not believe the will get it because N. Korea wants to flex its Muscles. Show the world that they do have ICBM capabilities.(Inter Continental Ballistic Missle). I believe that the missle will probally end up in the Bearing Sea, Just so N. Korea can say hey we could have gotten you. This is all my opinion and thinking. So dont let it bother you. The missle has to get off the ground before it can travel anywhere. Have a nice day.

I think that if N. Korea "test" launches their ICBM it would be a good time for us to "test" our missile defense system.
There is a remote chance that a launch could actually be an attack. but I think that Korea is too smart to attack anyone right now. They know that they can quietly build and perfect their nukes and ICBM with little consequence since the US is taking so much heat with Iraq. Why would they risk international military action when their WMDs are still far from perfect or numerous, when they can peacefully arm themselves for a nuclear holocaust? Right now they can just laugh every time the UN says, "You really better stop that!" and then get back to work on their weapons.
But even if it IS just a test launch, the US ought to shoot it down and deny N.K. the opportunity to learn from a successful test.

Japan's ready for action over it, and there's no way we'd let them f--k around with launching long range missiles.
It's a crazy time to be alive, right now. Iran's stepping to us, North Korea doesn't give a what, China and Russia are lurking in the background... Hopefully, since North Korea doesn't have any valuable resources to exploit, we wouldn't enter a groundwar that would cost lives-- we could smoke em off the map.
Yo, if you're sticking your toes in the water, you might get wet.

I thought about that too when I read the news, and I got kinda worried for a minute, but then I remembered that the US military has our own missiles that are ready to defend against others. So I doubt the missiles would ever make it to the US, but I hope the conflict can be resolved without resorting to that.

In all the reports i've been reading, they state that they may be planning on aiming at the east coast. This is pretty alarming. I doubt that one of our own missles can intercept the missile, especially it being nuclear, unless it was over open waters. If it was over another country, it may affect the people who live there.

It depends on what type of missile it is. More them likely they don't have missiles able to reach America but they might. Also, the missiles are probably old soviet missiles that aren't very good.

The have developed a missle that can reach Alaska and the West Coast. The have a nuclear weapons. We MIGHT be able to shoot it down or intercept it. Otherwise there would be a BIG boom.
The George would be so happy again like he was after the Trade center bombing. Purpose, mandate, HISTORY calling!

I think they are talking big. But China's economy depends on us so I think China will squash them.
