Maybe because she didn't want it. She just got the contract extension to do segments on Dateline. They send her on special assignments which is why you will see Natalie or Campbell sitting on the news desk while she is away. Ann Curry likes to cover special human interest topics and the Dateline gig allows her to get more in depth reporting, more often than the Today show anchor job Katie had.

Maybe she isn't personable enough. Katie didn't strictly report the news, she also did personal and in-depth interviews. Although I am sure Anne Curry is a very compassionate and caring person, maybe she wasn't able to convey that on camera the way the producers wanted.

I have to agree with the person that said "probably not liberal enough", absolutely, Anne Curry is such a lady, and much too nice for even the media to accept. She will be rewarded in a great way because of her marvelous education and to her, being last is to be first in anyones eyes.

cause they do not want a right wing doing the news as in they do not want a left wing,,,, they are suppose to be unbias,,,, and curry is not unbias,
