Emo is a broad title that covers a lot of different styles of emotionally-charged punk rock.
Most people have a horribly limited idea of what emo is, simply because the most important records in the development of emo were largely released on on vinyl, in small numbers, and with limited distribution. These were however very influential, so nowadays you have the situation that a lot of kids listen to third- and fourth-generation emo styles without even knowing it.
Unfortunately the whole emo thing has got more than a bit out of hand… emo used to describe the music (Fugazi, rites of spring & jawbreaker) but now the term is just thrown around to describe a bunch of fashion conscious, angst ridden 15 – 18 year olds who wear girl jeans and eyeliner (and im talking about both sexes there)

Emo is the new wave of punk kids. They are the long haired tight pants boys that act like woman. They cry and admit how sensitive they are. It's quite pathetic. I'd like to knock one out.
Oh, and I forgot woman can be emo too lol. my bad!

an emo is basically what john says he is... although he doesn't always fit the stereotypical emo guy thing... maddie thinks she is, but she isn't i don't think...
um basically they have blown EMOtional out of proportion, and wear dark colours, baggy or very tight clothes, like black hair, and act or generally are depressed. oh, and they say they cut their wrists...

no its not an emo person is someone who wears all black and cits there wrists and is just..scary. kinda like goth but worce. emo means emothional. it's also like when uir alwasys deprressed
