They tied, but US should have won. I am not saying that they are good, because they are not. They are terrible. I know that people are saying that the own goal would not have been a goal if that guy had not kicked it in, but McBride was right there and he would have gotten it. The Italian's goal was a free kick that resulted from an Italian dive, so it wasn't fair. The last US goal was said to have been offside, but I disagree with that because McBride removed himself from the play and he didn't have anything to do with the goal. After that though, the US just gave up and it was very disappointing. Italy is the worst team as far as diving and stuff and the ref wasn't that great. There were three red cards. The one on the Italian De Rossi was deserved because he blatantly elbowed McBride in the face and there was blood everywhere. The second one, Mastroeni came in on a slide tackle cleats first and the Italian made a big deal out of it as if he was injured, which he might have been, but still, the worst that it should have been was a yellow card. The third red, Pope was said to have fouled an Italian, although it was a complete dive and Pope didn't even touch him. I also think that Ghana had a bad ref in their game against Italy too, because they beat Czech so badly and they are a great team. I don't think that I will watch Italy play again because they make me so mad. I am not even going for the US. I am going for Australia.

Whether you were for the USA or you were for Italia, that was a sad game because the two teams didnt get to decide the outcome of the game...the ref did. I think Derossi deserved the red card, but it probably would have been a yellow if the ref wasnt trigger happy in giving Totti a yellow earlier. After that Totti yellow card it just went downhill as a fair competition from there. I would love to see a rematch of these two teams to see what the true result would have been, if both teams would have played 11 v 11 all game long.

It was a tie. Italy scored the first goal, then an Italian player accidently kicked the ball into their own goal. And at the end, it was something like 9 players against 10 players because the ref kept giving out red cards.

They tied 1-1 because of an Italy own goal. Then De Rossi elbowed an American player in the face.

Probably not, but hey look what happened with the Czech republic and Ghana! But Italy has a better team and more of a chance of winning.

typical Italy, not consistent. But USA are a fit, hardworking team, and it didn't suprise me that Italy found them hard to break down... Italy aren't in full flow yet, but luckily for them, they don't have to be... and they will qualify for the 2nd round, no worries.

A quote from Italy's Soccer coach:
"Daniele De Rossi is a nice kid, but he needs to change his microchip," reckons Italy coach Marcello Lippi, following his midfielder's nasty elbow to Brian McBride's face.

They underestimated a desperate US team. The third game looks very interesting now, they both have to play to win, not just for a Draw.
