what's the direction of velocity? is it the same with its displacement? if the directioin goes with the changes a person displaces, what's the result if a person goes forward 1 step then back 1 step? Does the person have velocity at all? in quantitY? in directions?

velocity is totally different from speed, speed accounts for total distance covered per unit time whereas velocity depends on displacement, it differs by change in displacement per unit time, i.e. higher the displacement in short time more would be the velocity, if the person after travelling a distance returns back to the original position then the it accounts for zero displacement, therefore it would be zero velocity no matter what the direction is.

velocity had magnitude (speed) and direction

If you take a step east, then you have velocity east for a second and then no velocity when you stop. If you take a step backwards you have either negative velocity in the east direction or velocity west for a second, then zero velocity again when you stop.
