Philosophy has been around since the begining of time. It is a way of life. It is how you live your life day to day. It has no start, and it has no end.

There is no single founder of philosophy. But it can be traced back to the early centuries of Aristolte, Socrates, and Plato. Although there is no one founder, there are the fathers of "Schools of Thought." In which a school of thought is an area of philosophy.
To sum it up, there is no founder of philosophy, but there are fathers of the "School of Thought". This can be seen in a very famous painting which can be easily found with any visual search engine under the name of Schools of Thought.

Philosophy started about 2,500 years ago. The stereotype of philosophers as people who become so totally absorbed in thought that they forget day-to-day concerns was forged early. The story goes that Thales, the first ancient Greek philosopher, would get so involved in thinking that he wouldn't notice where he was, and would fall into open wells unless his friends were with him to keep him safe!

It is said that Descartes is the Father of Philosophy. You could look him up and start from there. You might want to also try Plato and Aristotle

Thales of Miletus (624-546 BC approx.) is regarded as the first philosopher in the Greek tradition. People may have been philosophising before that, but we don't have good records of it.
