my garden is 100ft. x 35ft. and there is so much purslane in it, to pull by hand would be insane. I really cant use Round Up because i might kill on of my veggie plants. But...it is also everywhere in my yard so i do pull and pull to try and keep it out of the flower beds and grass. Its just the veggie garden has alot of veggies and there growing like crazy. Most of my seeds didnt produce anything but the starters are doing great. I do pull the purslane out around the plants as much as possible, but man it just is taking over the whole garden. I pull and i pull and it seems the more i pull the worst it gets, and i do throw it away, but it has just gotten to over barring. I was just hoping there was a way i could get control without havin to keep pulling.
Thanx,
Heather

You pretty much have to hand pull it. Usually purslane is bad in freshly disturbed ground. If you diligently pull it for a while and dont let it go to seed you will have less trouble with it over time. Try hand pulling after a good watering or heavy rain. It can be hard to get out when it is dry.

Hoe regularly to destroy new plants, or pull them up by hand. Dispose of purslane promptly; left lying on the ground it can go to seed or reroot weeks later.

If you want natural bug killer, try going to a website with a man named P. Allen Smith from weather channel.
