Personally I use it because I can connect with old friends from high school and stuff. Plus there are discussion boards on many different topics. You can blog and make your page all personalized.

One reason is because regular people can use it to promote their music especially people who dont have record deals its a great way to start off

I think, it is popular beacuse, it is a page, where you will be printyed out, onto internet, I think i dont make myself clear but, it gives you tons of oportunities and choises, just so you can show them the real you!
