Hi, I am a nurse at a long term care facility. The best way to go about it is, go through the phone book, and call the nursing homes in your area, ask for the aide supervisor and ask if there are any classes scheduled in the future, Most of the time, they will enroll you in the class and then if you want to work there they will hire you or you can just pay for the class, its not expensive.Good luck...

Most community colleges offer courses to obtain your CNA certification. Many employers will let you start work while you are obtaining your certification and some will even pay for your certification.
