No, but when did they meet? Medical school? If most doctors meet their significant others in school or at work, then it isn't really all that shocking.

The well off and well educated become bored and are uninterested with the lives of the other people in the world. They are classified as intellectuals and or academics. Einstien would'nt hang around with Muhamid aley. Adult hood is no different than highschool. Every one has their own group catagorie that they fit in. People only associate them selves with others that have similarities. It is the point of just being comfortable. If your a full fledged faithfull servant of god you would'nt go chill with the pot heads or the goths, right.

no it doesnt have to be
my sister is a doctor, but her husband isnt even connected to anything medical, he is in IT (now home looking after kids tho...)
being a doctor/nurse has its influence on social life, as in weird working hours, so it does help if the spouse understands the medical world etc..

It's just like a nurse marrying a nurse, etc. It's because the move on the same circle.

it's not always like that, but it makes sense-because there is more understanding in their relationship regarding their careers. they both have somewhat dedicated their lives to medicine and the other is not going to have a problem understanding if a spouse has a surgery that goes 4 hrs late unexpectedly into the evening. it just makes their partnership more equal.

No, but when you work in such a demanding profession, it can help if your spouse truly knows what you have to go through for your career. That's why cops also tend to marry other cops as well.
