The metric system is better.

The question here I believe is WHY is it better, and what are the actual differences?

The metric system was based on arbitrary measure(The kilogram actually exists and It's a piece of Iron, I think, that weighs exactly one Kilogram, the Metre is a piece of wood that measure a Metre, etc)

The imperial system, on the other hand, was based on more common things like a teaspoon, a yard, or other variables that are more prone to change over time, because sometimes, they were even measured after a person.

So far, we see one advantage for metric, but the biggest is the fact that it's based on the decimal system; That is, to convert from one metric unit to another dimentionally compatible one, You can usually multiply or divide by a power of 10, instead of inexact conversions like in the imperial system.

Metric system
milimeter

The main diffrence is that the metric system is done using orders of 10, example 10 milimeter = 1 centimeter while the english system does not example 12 inches = 1 foot .....

Metric is based on the meter and powers of 10. English is based on the inch, cup, teaspoon, and a bunch of other things, depending on what you're measuring.

Hate to point out that it is the "Imperial" system and that England (well the whole of the UK) now OFFICIALLY is metric in all but it's roads

Metric is easier, better, and logical.

Metric is base 10 ( easier to count on 10 fingers).
Imperial or English is mostly based on 12 ( harder to count on 12 fingers).

I suspect that both systems were developed by dropping objects.
