it depends on how intricate it is, how big it is, and where you get it. some of the most painful places are over bone, ex: wrists, ankles, back of the neck, ribs. they're generally the most painful. you do get used to the pain after having a few but it still hurts.

Depends on where you get it. Soft skin and extra muscle will sting but won't put you on the floor. But if you get one in a thin spot like your shoulder blade, ankle, wrist, etc. you may not be able to handle getting a large one. Also the back of your arm above your elbow is really painful... ever pinched that area before.

All pain is tolerable, though. Depends on your willingness to continue. Pain is only a signal from your body. When you're getting the tattoo, you can medidate on something; draw the pain away from your attention. Think about going on a journey, a long adventure. When you're finished, you will deserve the tattoo you're are getting.

Be sure to get a tattoo that means alot to you. Don't get cartoons or people's names(unless their family) or tattoos that are in style like tribals and stuff. You won't really think they're all that cool about 5 years from now. I'm getting a buffalo head to represent God as the provider in my life, because I came out of poverty and never had to worry about a meal. I'm going to add a few personal details to it, but it will mean alot to me.

Yes, it hurts at first, but you get used to it. I've gotten 2. It's not so bad, but just remember, it's there for life...even when you're wrinkley and grey, so make sure it's something you can grow old with and something that you absolutely love.

And NEVER let anyone freehand on you! My sister did that and hers looks horrible! Make sure they have a tracing and they put it where you want it first, then trace over it. This way, it goes exactly where you want it, and you like the way it looks BEFORE he starts in with the needle and ink, 'cause that's permanent.

If it's a small tattoo then its fine. Since it gets over soon, its fine. But if you are considering a huge one, it might be quite a lot of pain and you may actually end up getting fever for a day or two. Ask the tattoo maker to guide you and tell him that you are a firsttimer. Consult a doctor if you want to.

It depends on what area of your body you are getting it. There are more nerves in certain places than others. I have one on my lower back and it didn't hurt. It tickled a little at first with the vibration. Have you ever sit on a hot tub blast for so long it made you itch? Or have you ever sit on something that vibrated until you itched. That is how it felt to me. What out once you get one you'll get addicted to ink.

Light a sigaret and move it gently, painfully slow, at about a nails thickness high over your skin. It actyually is a good test as it resembles the 'pain' and tests your tolerance for it in that spot.

Depending on where you plan it and what your pain threshold is, it will hurt plenty or even not at all.

Depends on where, but it can feel like anything from really bad pins and needles, to a sharp pain whenever the needle is actually in contact. I have one on my upper arm and it was a dull buzzing pain, not too bad, but I hear lower back and ankles can really hurt.

It really depends where you get it. Your ankles probably would be the least painful place.

Rather consider once more if you really want something you can't get rid of the rest of your life! Your likes and thoughts may change, your skin will look differently and not so smooth - and all such things.

It all depends on your pain tolerance and as to where it is. I almost fell asleep during one of my tatoos.

Getting them doesn't hurt so bad. Being embarrassed years later by a bad choice is more painful and having them lasered off hurts like hell.
