Democratic or not, it was a poor decision, we should never have gotten involved there.

The reason why we are discussing this question itself suggests that the decision was democratic.

Certain decisions are blamed until it is success. I am not sure if this is a right or wrong decision. However, if you ask me if democracy is good for Iraq, my answer will be a defintive YES

Yes it was. Congress voted for the invasion, I think there was 1 vote against. We gave 3 months notice of the invasion so there was plently of time to send the weapons to Syria or bury them. The world knows what Sadaams intentions where so someone had to stop the bully. If he didn't have germ warfare explain the attack on the Kurds that killed 1000s. They all eat the same food think not. So in the end fighting the "enemy" is always better on their soil than our own. Usually the USA waits to long such as the World Wars. So yes to your questions it was a yes, green light, whatever.

Wasn't the vote in the Senate nearly unanimous to go into Iraq back in March 2003? If it wasn't it was something like 96-3 or 98-2.

Technically yes, since it was voted upon and approved by Congress.

If one argues that it was not democratic because the American citizen did not vote for it, one should remember that America is a democratic republic where voting authority is delegated for the sake of expediency and cost to a smaller group of individuals who are supposed to carry the national interests.

No. Not everything the government is by referendum. This is a democratically elected constitutional republic.

What exactly do you mean? Congress voted in favor of the war, so in that sense, I guess it was democratic.
