Democracy like ours, no. A functioning, more free, and less hostile government than Saddams, yes. Civil war, no.

There will definetely be a democracy. It is just that people are not used to the benefits of the same. Once they know and once the occupying forces finish looting their resources, Iraq will become a good democracy.

See the largest and greatest democracy of the World.. India was looted by colonialists and then let free. They even divided the country to created life long fights.. Yet, it became one of the most amazing democracies of the world. And remember.. it is a true democratic country. President is the head and not queen

It depends on how strong the democratic government is, and how effectively it carries the trust of the people. You are correct to pose the question in contrapositive terms, since an effective democracy will allow a means for those diametrically opposed elements to come together, gain acceptance and resolve their disputes peaceably.

yes democracy is simply giving people a voice in government and the voice they have is kill americans americans go home and let us continue to kill each-other.Now a police state is different you can force people to stay inside except to work and keep some peace between people who want to kill one -another.Also important is a job which americans are happy to pay billions of dollars to Iraq police and government officials trying to get them to do like americans government employees do follow what ever the leader says.THIS includes the huge military industrial complex that votes for weapons and wars to have work .We where hoping to get the same in iraq lots of people working for the government ayed by americans to elect puppets to do as america wants.THERE leader asked us to leave so lets go now .
