If I am reading this right , the answer is easy.
If you keep James & Brady then your first pick would be in the Third Round & you would lose your 13th Pick. This seems like a big mistake, unless the remaining Player Pool is stack with Good RB's. Normally good coaches keep as many RB's as they can. Which would leave you digging deep for RB help.
But If you Keep James & Da Bears you will have One upper tier RB & a Second Round Pick. Which I would use to Pick-up another RB.
I think It is better to Lose a 1st & 13th Pick then a 1st & 2nd .
Good Luck !!!

With their defense intact and the addition of Ricky Manning Jr. and additional focus made on the nit during the draft, the Bears Defense is a keeper. Defenses usually start with a set amount of points at the beginning; their defense most of the time will lose a point or two at the end or push the starting total even higher.

Also, depending on the point scheme, Edgerrin James has more opportunities to rack up points for your team (rushing yards, rushing TDs, 2-pt. conversion, receiving yards, receiving TDs) and only lose points for fumbles lost. Tom Brady can grab a nice tally (passing yards, passing TDs, 2-pt. conversion, rushing yards, rushing TDs) but can lose points from INTs and lost fumbles. Also, Brady must pass for more yards to get the same number of points that any RB or WR can pick up. Edgerrin James offers you more versatility in scoring with less chance of losing them.

Final answer: Edgerrin James and Bears Defense

Take into consideration that James is going to be playing for Arizona this year. Take a look at their offensive line and see if he's even got a chance of posting good numbers.

The Bears defense should be pretty strong again this year, but it has been my experience that defenses can play a great game and hardly give you any fantasy points.

Brady is a decent quarterback in the regular season, but I think you can probably find somebody that can put up better numbers, in terms of actually getting points. He doesn't turn the ball over that much, which is great, so definitely think about that as well.

Keep James because he is worthy of being a 1st round pick.

However, if you were doing a normal draft with no keepers, would you take Brady with your 2nd round pick? I know I wouldn't. You can get better value at QB later in the draft because there is so much depth.

You would be much better suited to only keep James and then be able to take another RB with your 1st pick. You might even be able to take Brady a round or two later.

This might not be a popular opinion, but Edgerrin James might not be that awesome without that good O-line in front of him. I think you need to gauge that & the potential people available in the first round (plus where you pick in the 1st round).

If the talent is thin in the 1st round, hold James & drop the Bears D. If not, you need to decide if James is better than any other RB option on the table in the 1st round.

James and the Bears defense. QBs are a dime a dozen with the exception being Peyton Manning for fantasy purposes.

Easy. Edge and Brady.

You can typically pick up a top 5 defense in the first 2-3 weeks of the season, one that no one suspected would be that good this year. Plus, there isn't that much difference between the top defenses and the 2nd tier defenses...definitely not as much as the difference between #1 RBs and #2 RBs.
