Sweden is a very safe country, and many people speak English. So you will have all possibilites to live in a similar way to could live alone in a big city in your home country.

What would your thoughts be to live in your home country, in a city far away from your parents? Do the same considerations, and I think you'll be fine.

Don't forget to have all relevant phone numbers and addresses with you - and inform yourself in Sweden about medical services, emergency phone numbers and all the stuff. Your university there surely will support you.

Go for it! Studying abroad is an amazing experience that you will cherish forever. Sweden is a beautiful country with great people. As in all situations, you need to be careful (ie don't jog at night alone) but you will do fine if you follow common sense.

Here is a link to Interpol - if you email them they can probably provide you with Sweden's crime statistic.

Well you need to be more specific -

What country are you from?

Do you speak Swedish?

What are you wearing?

Are you into running around naked in the snow etc?
