My Mom wasn't such a great cook but she tried. When people talk about what great cooks their mothers are, I just look at them funny.

mom had this fish thing she did -- totally gross.

She would take a block of frozen fish, squirt lemon and put butter on it and stick it in the oven.

She would also take a lump of ground beef, pour ketchup on it, stick it in the oven and call it meatloaf.

totally gross!

My mom was a great cook, and never made me eat something I didn't like, as long as I had tried it first.

My mom was always a great cook when I was growing up...but one time she made liver and onions and tried to get me to eat....That is just sick....my kids will never have to even think about eating that.

well, liver and onions was pretty gross. Almost as bad as teh liverwurst, onion and mustard sandwiches she used to give me for lunch when I was in elementary school.
Then there were those biscuits that we tried to sell to the Army to use for breaking down walls they were so hard. But other than that...she's a pretty good cook!

My mom wasn't around when i was growing up, it was grandmother that did the cooking....and it was those nasty "salmon cakes"...i suppose she did a good job on them, because everyone else ate them, but yuck....oh and green beans, can't stand green beans...i still refuse to eat green beans, and i'm almost 31 years old.

the 1st time i attempted to make Ragout, it got here out looking like some thing an alien regurgitated after eating some thing icky. That became definatly a purple Lobster evening--LOL. Now, each time i choose my expensive hubby to take me out to purple Lobster, I purely threaten him with Ragout.

The only thing my Mom cooked that I didn't like was grits. Why is it that southern people worship these things?

Stuffed Calamari. Most people love it, I hated it. Whole calamari is stuffed and cooked in a tomato sauce and served with spaghetti.
