I don't think so, but it can be dramatically reduced.

Yes, when people realize that no one is greater or better that another. It's no different than when one feel that all who are not rich, or prettier than another that when you need help; none of these things matter. People no matter what color, people NEED people. If on a deserted island for 3 years, wouldn't it be better to have a person there to communicate with than a pet frog or a dog? People are the same because when you die your body returns to dirt; so why the bickering? Should I hate you or anyone else just because they misspell the word ' racism'?? People are petty and immature. It's small minded and immature for a person to think that their skin color is a better than another. I'd rather be around a person who can express ideas than one who can't communicate with logic. We find ignorance in every color of The One Race ( The Human Race). Color of skin is not the issue but the mind set of any an all people. There are some rich and some poor and many poor people have more wisdom than some rich. Seek peope who have all things in common. Even if you have to close your eyes and just talk to others. This way you shut out what you see and you'll focus more on what is being said. If you were deaf and blind and could only communicate with sign language using the since of touch; would it make a difference if the person was black or white??? We must abolish the thought process and renew that mind of all the things taught which hinders us from being a 'PEOPLE'S' person and not a 'COLORS' person. I'd rather be with an person who could not speak my language than with one who could and had a negative mind process and were the same color as I am. Who needs the frustration of existing with an idiot just because they are the same color as I am? No Thanks!!!!

The great Crusade must be initiated by Leaders of Religions.Somehow the Islamic leaders have accomplished this. There is no visible racism in congregations and least noticeable in interpersonal interactions. How did they attain the feat? This question can be easily probed as a course of action by all Religions. If Cardinal Francis Arinze was elected as the 'currently serving' Holy Pope, there would have been a real accomplishment in Caholicicism. Indeed this is a very serious and sober question. I congratulate the asker.

Not as long as questions like this need to be asked... Think about it!

Abolish the NAACP, for example, and then maybe...

Why is there a Miss Black America, or whatever, but there cannot be a Miss White America? A Black Student Union, but there cannot be a White Student Union...

As long as there is a differentiation and questions like these, there will never be total equality!

No. As some other answers have stated, there is too much negative history. You are always going to have someone talking about what happened in the past and someone making comparisons to how each other lives. Not to make anyone angry but there are people who think that one does not do enough and the other just has the upper hand. I think the ability lies within the person. If you have a negative outlook and dwell on things then you will pass that on to others. (namely your children, etc..) that is how the racism continues to exist. If there was a magic ball and it could allow people to let go of the past, things we have had no control over, and move forward without that lingering in the back of their minds, then maybe then would you have that kind of outcome. But, as you know, there is no magic ball.

This problem is never with the blacks rather with the white. I have taken time out to study what really makes a white feel superior. I started with the skin colour and disciver the black hace it better. Feature wise, the blacks are well built. Brain wise- this is relative- but pain, toil and injustice will put the black on better edge.
What is left in argument that makes the white feel superior? I think it is simply a policy to keep the blacks in pertual inferiority state of mind. It is a design
Come to think of it. God created us into this caste ,colour and race not to permit discrimination but for us to observe, think feel and thereby glorify HIM. Alas, the white threw this reasoning to the dust bin.
I discovered that we are all from Adam and Eve and these two are not really white but tanned skin from which both black and white are easy extract. We are black by the climatic, [food, air amd water] and environment we reside. I have the theory to prove- if anyones interested.
If we think this out, we'd discover that we are all brothers and sisters from the duo of Adam and Eve, Islam gave a detailed explanation on this. Talk more?
Ignorance is so pervasive that they cannot reason this out- i mean the lots of the white.
If you get it, then welcome to sound reasoning.

It could be reduced but it cannot be abolished as it deals with prejudice, no matter how many laws are passed unless every single person is enlightened enough to respect people for what they are not be judgemental it can never really go.

Prejudice will always find ways to exist in the form of racism, caste-ism, sect-ism, any other divisionary method as long as people are filled with hate and jealousy.

I dont think it will ever be abolished and racism will always be around in some shape or form but I do think it is getting better they are learning to tolerate each othe more and are begining to realise that they are not really that different but wouldn't it be a nice thing to happen

It would be nice, but I doubt that it will ever happen.

The word "Racism" is only a fairly recent addition to our vocabulary, and the awareness of it is even more recent. The facts of racism, however, are as old as mankind. It started with tribalism, and when tribes became nations and races, it progressed with the development. One might not like it, but it is a fact of life. And no one can force anyone to love all people and races in the same way.

And one more observation from my years in Africa: There is no worse form of severe tribalism in the world than between black and black people of different tribes in Africa.

Unfortunately, I must say no. We are at a point where racism is passed down from generation to generation. We have come a very long way with regards to the situation, but so much more needs to be done. Racism may not be in the forefront but people do it underhandedly when it comes down to things such as promotions and opportunities. As long as that takes place we will never advance.

I would say that racism between black and whites is just because of the colour difference and the day they realise that being white does not have any added advantage that day this issue will be resolved. I would also like to add this its not the people personally who are racist but its the society collectively who does this..
