i've downloaded the msgr and when i try to sign in it doesn't work and says yahoo msgr can't connect..what's wrong?:(

just use MSN messenger...its better

It could possibly have a problem or be down at the time, try reinstalling and see what happens.

Check your firewall, and "unblock" yahoo messenger

your firewall must be preventing your messenger from connecting to the net. they usually do this to most messengers to protect you from security breech. try lowering your firewall settings and try again...your welcome.
