Hi i have a teddy bear hampster and sometimes he makes a noise almost like a little chirp. He is not sick he eats and drinks fine and is active .But when we put him back in his cage he will make a noise sometimes as if he had the hiccups.Can hampsters get hiccups and if not what could be that noise he makes?

That's just what they do. If he could speak English he would. But he's a hamster so he speaks hamster. It is hamster by the way not hampster

this is perfectly normal absolutely nothing wrong with the chirping mine does it all the time when she's happy bill do when they're happy when they're sad when their gressive you have to actually watch them in watch their body language to see why they're tripping but if you're putting him / her away and they're tripping when you're putting them away it probably means that they want to be out with youI suggest if you don't already have one getting a few toys and a ball to put the hamster in so she can be out with you without being in danger of getting lost or squashed

Is it a male? Maybe he is doing a mating call for a female hamster. Or just hamster talk.

maybe he just does that cause your putting him back in his cage maybe hes tryen to tell you he wants to get back out! aww there so cute!
