Like most import scum, this guy did not answer your question at all. It sounds like you have a dead battery or some kind of electrical problems. Does anything else in the car turn on such as headlights? It could be that something drained your battery and now nothing will work. Try jump starting it or having your battery charged. You will have to jump back in through the trunk to open the hood unless you unlocked your doors last time.

Kelli:
Unfortunately, you are the proud owner of one of the worst cars GM ever made. If I were you, I'd sell it and get something else (Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mazda) because you are going to have alot more problems with it, if your experience is like most Cavalier owners.
Good Luck.

imports suck stick with the cavalier... and it does sound like a theft-lock system problem to me. I had the same problem my battery died and my theft-lock... um locked you might want to call a dealer they should have the unlock codes and a answer as to why your battery died plus some helpful tips to avoid problems like this in the future

Screw that guy. I have a cavalier and i love it. I hate those poeople "toyota and hond are better" don't pay any attention to him. He didn't even answer your question. You really should have someone look at it it's hard to diagnose like this.
Keep the cavi they are the best!

If you have the 3.1L or the 3.4L engine, the common problem is the lower intake gasket leaks coolant. Check there first before the head gaskets.
