Well, yesterday was the first time for 8 years they had scored a World Cup goal outside their own country... they struggles through qualifying and now look set to struggle to get out of the group stages. It's my view that the French team, apart from the cup they won has never gelled....the team is on the wane - Zidane is actually now a hinderance to the team rather than the glory player of before - Henry sulks when he can't get into a game and the defending for Korea's goal was shocking...

Your question and answer for it,are very simple. No development on their side. They have been using the same kind of players since they worn World Cup 1998. This put a big question mark as to where are graduates for their youth development/academy as far as soccer is concerned. Old guys do not win world cup. There is no more zeal to win, their legs cannot carry them anymore. Bring the new blood, then you will see the difference, because the old one have ran out of ideas.

They relied upon too many old players running to seed.
And other nations have learnt to play the game just as well.

Too many egos in the team. They should follow Brazil's lead and combine skill with hard work....they had to fight hard as well as play attractive football to beat the fiery Australians!

worldclass players with lack of communication and heart in the field.
Also lack of goal shots any team can have a good ball posession but you need score at the goal too.

I'm afraid that the majority of the team and squad are ageing stars, just past their sell by date.
