No tjust sending you IM's its virtually not possible, but if someone sends you a file and you accept it then he other person gets to know your IP Address (Not in all cases) and then he can plan an attack on your computer. So best is install a firewall. If you do not have one get here for free.

Even though Yahoo goes thru great efforts to keep you secure, there is ALWAYS someone out there that will know how to hack it...Yes, very possible! And not with just YM, but anything you can think of. Be very cautious of what you download and run and use a firewall for extra protection.

Yes, if he opened backdoor in you PC, lanch spyware on backround and then chat with you online in yahoo massenger.
thats mean he (know your computer) even from source that link to your computer.
