The best physical age for giving birth is, indeed, between 25-27. Complications of mother and the child are minimum between 20 to 30 years, although in my opinion, 30 is pushing it. Women are designed to give birth when they are young and their body can "snap back" and heal WHILE they are taking care of that baby. It doesn't get any easier as you get older and - of course - the older you get the less fertile you are. There are many reasons women delay having children, but you need to balance that against the physicality.

Yes!!! Younger women end up with the possiblity of TERRIBLE health issues, and older women (I was 18, 21, and 35 when I gave birth) are physically drained from pregnancy. Even with the new advances in health care, the last pregnancy was terribly hard on me physically. I became so tired during my last pregnancy that it was difficult to walk across the floor, do dishes, housework, and I had to quit my job. During the first pregnancy, I was not ready for it emotionally OR physically. My body had not stopped growing, which is normal. So the added physical burden of a pregnancy was twice as hard on me.

Any age is ok to get pregnant as long as your first born is not conceived after age of 40 years old otherwise the chances of having a down syndrome child may be quite high. I read somewhere recently that older men(after age 45) may produce less intelligent children. Hope it doesnt apply to every middle age man.But I still think its all God's will.

maybe not necessarily 24 and 25, but yes, the 20's are the optimum time for you to carry a healthy baby to term with the lowest risk of birth defects. (for example, the risk for Down's syndrome increases with the age of the parents because that chromosome (#22?) starts to break down, and that's what causes Down's syndrome)

well before you are 30. the older you get or so after 30 you can have children with down syndrome...you can also have children with down syndrome if you do drugs too. But that is for women...men can be old and be in his 40's or 30's and get a girl preggers younger than 30 and there kid looks normal. so the answer to your question is a yes.

I had my first child at 22 and my last at 33. I was healthy with all my children's births, but actually my last child to be born was the best experience because I knew what to expect and wasn't scared like with my first. Your DR would be your best source to ask if you are thinking of getting pregnant. Good luck!

well I am almost 25 and I am pregnant with my fourth. I think that if I would've waited until now my kids could;'ve had more and I wouldn;t be so stressed....At 24-25 you are at a more mature level and can understand things alot more...

Healthwise, probably. But whether or not a 24 or25 year old is equipped in her life to care for a child, that all depends on the woman.

The age doesn't matter. What matters is if the women is financially ready and capable of taking care of themselves and kids.
