These stories are really harrowing!
Watching my Dad's lung being drained was quite grim, but I think my worst shock was seeing a 5 year old boy who had been run over by a Landrover. Apparently he had just ran right out in front of it. There was no blood but he was just lying still on the road when I passed. I found out later that he escaped with only cuts and bruises despite having his head run right over by the 2 ton vehicle.
Must have been a miracle.

Seen alot: A man in the ER with a compound bow arrow shot between his index finger and middle finger, up into his wrist. (he stuck out his hand to avoid being hit with the arrow); a man who didn't have a face; he tried to kill himself and just blew off his face. No nose, jaw, mouth; very unnerving. Compound fractures with bones sticking out. Surgeries such as amputations of legs and limbs; nurse carrying the amputated leg and shouting "we're having soup for lunch"! I could go on and on.

Spring of 1974 - Ft. Jackson, SC
A young army trainee had gone out in the middle of the night and broken into another barracks about 300 yeards from his own. He got caught by some other trainees and cut a few while escaping. They chased him down and beat him with baseball bats.
Gory... his head was basically held together by his scalp and a Drill Sgt who came and tried to save him after the beating.
I don't recall whether he lived or died. It was a really shocking night.

A couple of weeks ago I saw a man get run over by a tram in Manchester UK. All that was sticking out was his ankle. It wasn't a nice sight. AND, if you were one of the people taking pictures, I think you are sick. I saw a pane of glass fall from a height, hit a young lad's head, nose and rip his bottom lip away. I'm a First Aider so I dealt with him but looking at his mouth made me want to throw up.

I once witnessed a road traffic accident where a double-decker bus ran over a man and crushed his head.
The guy just ran in front of the bus.

I saw my friend knocked off his bike by a car when we were children. He sailed into the air and landed on his head (no helmets in those days). He had a severely fractured skull, but he survived. Still think about it and I haven't seen him for years. Also saw a four year old girl knocked down on a zebra crossing. The girl had broken her leg, which was bad enough, but her poor mother saw the whole thing and seeing her reaction was equally traumatic.

...living in Mexico City, I witnessed a suicide...a man on a motor cycle was coming down the street, and the traffic was stopped. I heard his engine revving it was in 2nd moving to third. We were at the stop sign, waiting to get onto the crowded Periferico--and the sound kept getting closer and faster--and then I saw him from the corner of my eye, as if in slow motion, he hurled himself into the parked bus not more than 10 feet from me...he looked like a rag doll, and I covered my eyes...I didn't look back--we got out of there.

When I was in college I had to go to a trauma hospital and watch a surgery. The surgery was an amputation surgery after a man had a motorcycle accident. Both of his legs and one of his arms had to be removed.

Angolan war ... So many to chose from.
Happened on a moont burying land mines. He looked up and set it off - lost both legs and an arm. I let him scream for a while before I shot him.
He was setting mines on a track used by village kids to go to and from school.
