Well it depends on your position with him, is he the only male role model youve had, how long has he been your stepdad, and is your real father still in the picture. I have a stepfather that has been in my life for 21 years and i called him and told him Happy Fathers Day and had normal how ya doing conversation with him. Im still not ready to call him Dad yet because even though mine passed 8 yrs ago, in my opinion it would be disrespectful to the great daddy i had. It all lies within yourself and your comfort zone.

I guess it depends on how much like a true father he is to you. If he's been there and raised you, you talk to him like you would any other father. If he's recently entered your life and really isn't a father to you, you could still wish him the "happy day" bit and say what you think about having him in your life.

Of course, if you really hate the guy, you might not say what you think exactly as you do have to live with him and your mum.

I think you should respect him; I am a step father as well; but I think who ever raises you or cares for you even that they aren't your biological father should be wished a happy fathers day aswell. There aren't alot of guys out there that will actually help raise other people kids; but it also depends on the circumstances.

So I see you're a little nervous. A joke will come in handy! You can talk to your step father face to face, on the phone, or using yahoo messenger :). A letter won't work cause' it will probably arrive later.

you just go up to him and tell him what you want him to know and really mean it, the reason i know so much about it is because my step father used to drink alot and it was hard to talk to him also but i just told him he needs to hear what i have to say to him and he did.

like normal, it is weird but you can manage. it takes time to talk to one that is not you dad but your mom loves him, so you need to be yourself and say hi.
