I don't think that Arkanoid was ever sold as a "dedicated" machine.
I think it was a conversion that operators put into older machines that were not earning as much, a process that was common in the '80's.
I've seen Arkanoids in all kinds of different cabinets... It's just whatever was not making $ (Frogger, PacMan, Phoenix) at the time got converted.
Being in the UK, I don't know, but keep watching Ebay...

I've heard of (and played) it. I think it is very good. If you buy it...well...it's your money.
