What do you mean by "fast" connections? I have a 256 kbps no limits always on Airtel DSL (broadband) connection in Delhi, and Airtel doubles the speed at night - so I get 512 kbps, and I am able to download loads of stuff, and very fast too.
And I pay 1K for it a month, which isnt eating into my pocket too much.

Shortly Reliance is coming up with unlimited high speed bandwidth, on an affordable price. Even airtel is working on it. I may take a while before it reaches us.

well is it true that in India, the government is very strict with the internet? I heard they filter alot of news, information, etc. and that's why the connections are so slow over there...I could be wrong.
