Hey,
Cultivators have been working hard in trying to produce a black rose. While no jet-black rose yet exists, there are some of such a deep red as to suggest black. E.g., Rosa 'Black Magic' and Rosa 'Ruby Celebration. 'Alternatively, some florists dry fresh roses and dye them black.
There is some disagreement on this point, as is to be expected, since a truly black rose does not yet even exist. Many say black represents death and can thus be used as a symbol to express vengeance towards a foe. But others interpret that more liberally, suggesting as a meaning for black roses the death of old habits, thus signalling a rebirth.
Hope this helps...

A true black rose does not exist in nature. Two of the Tea roses - Black Magic and Ink Spots and the miniature Black Jade have almost black buds and the blooms are deep (almost black) reds.
Also, some florists will dry roses and dye them black.. The black rose does exist in fiction as a symbolism, but with many different meanings.

Yes there is!. Black Roses are "bred" in Spain, because America does not have the sun or soil to bred them. Although they appear to be Black, they are actually a deep, dark Reddish color, and you'll have to look very carefully to see this. If you've spotted them in a local Florist, chances are they are "silk ,feathered,or White Roses, that have been dyed Black". Black Roses have to be ordered at a certain time of the year, because they will die enroute to the U.S

"Sorry to tell you but there is also no black rose. The roses that are euphemistically called black are actually very dark reds"
