I think the negative comments are mostly fueled by some people asking really nasty questions whether they be racist questions or just ridiculously mean. Personally, I get a little peeved sometimes at some of the questions, but at the same time, a lot of them make me laugh. I also enjoy the opportunity to help from time to time when I might know a little more on a subject than the next person. Overall, I think Yahoo!Answers, is a break from work, a place to vent, and a place to help thereby making it a success that I anticipate will continue and grow over time. Thanks! Have a rockin' day!!!

Hey, there will always be some static. You should have heard AM radio in the 50's!
Having a good enough mental filter to sort out the interpersonal spam is a major part of life.
The good stuff will always be there if you don't quit.
If you quit, you'll just have to un-quit.
Stick with it. People in general won't change too much.
It's how you deal.

Quite addictive. However I do agree that there is a lot of drivel and nonsense. Once you sort through the muck, the rest is informative and entertaining. I've learned quite a lot and more interestingly have been able to ascertain common opinion in all it's diversity - you can't source that anywhere else!

Useless, arrogant, irrelevant, etc.. take your pick, and that's just the staff and moderators. Now, most of the people answering the questions, even worse....

It's Sturgeon's Law.
Theodore Sturgeon was a sci-fi writer. In the early 70s, he was asked what was wrong with sci-fi and he said "90 percent of sci-fi is crud. 90 percent of everything is crud."
"Crud" evolved into "crap", so now we have "90 percent of everything is crap."
Why should this place be any different?
