Ok, so I am really hooked on getting a tattoo, I know exactly what I want and where to get it, and I want it kinda small. It's nothing common and girly, it's a meaningful tat that I am really stuck on. But I hear that getting it on the front of your hip near your belly will be a disaster once you have babies, and that's the only place I think I want it. If I can't get it there, I won't get it. Do any moms have advice or experience with tummy or hip tats? Where else can a women get a tattoo without it looking trashy?

Ok not to get too graphic but, I have a tat right above pubic bone line and near the right pelvic bone....I've had 3children and looks the same as the day I got it ,of course of fading had it a while. I don't understand the problem you thought you'd have....If it's a worry that the shape will change because skin stretching well, that all depends on you dna not the tat....if you are small framed, good skin elasticity ,or you use lotion during your pregnancy then you should be fine.

I have a tattoo on my lower back mainly because that isn't a place you would tend to gain weight. I have a friend who had a tattoo on her hip bone and it doesn't look so good since she had her son. It stretched out and it's hard to see what it was. It's totally up to you but just be certain to pick a tattoo artist who is reputable, wears gloves and sterilizes all needles!

I ain't a mom but that's an 'old wive's tale' about it hurting. It does on some, on some it doesn't! Tattoo's are only 'skin deep!' Go to a professional shop to get it, is my suggestion. They will use clean needles and be more sterile! You'll have to pay more but... I didn't for many of mine but I know the guy! Anyway good luck!

If the tattoo is that meaningful to you, you might consider putting it on your chest above your breast over your heart. Another good spot is on the side of your shin. These are places that you could show your tattoo or hide them if need be.

If you're in to tattoo -- no place is trashy. It's more of what the tattoo is of that can be trashy. Just remember what's "up" must come "down" -- will it look alright when you're skin sags with age?

get one of those tattoos like the back of a mad magazine. When your skin stretches you can fold it and create a new picture.

You had better just use fake tatto, then you can change pictures tatto designs from time to time, Once you had real tatoo, it is very difficult to remove. and it costs a lot of money.

I have one on my chest with my kids names on it. I have one on my middle thigh with my husbands name on it, and I have a heart on my butt.
