I hadn't heard the poem and it's amusing, but no, of course all Italian men are not hysterical hairdressers. That is very insulting to hairdressers!!
I'm not a hairdresser, but I am half Italian, and I have met some lovely Italian men, who are caring fathers, warm husbands, good friends to the women in their lives.
Have you been to Italy? It is a very beautiful country, and there are all sorts of people in it.
I don't think you can generalise about any race, though there are certainly some racial stereotypes that seem to stick.
I wonder what nationality you are and how you feel about people stereotyping You?
Good question though - it got me thinking.

like yah, and there is that stereotype that most italian men are gay-or at least wishing they could be gay, but they do make good designers though, I mean where would we be without our Versace, Prada and Dolce&Gabbana-scrounging around Matalan thats where...

no. that's a completely racist thing to say and i wouldn't have even bothered answering your question until i saw that only racist people had replied to it, and i had to redress the balance.
