I like to write what is known as stream of consciousness lyrics, which is basically made-up. I then make a second copy and put it through AltaVista Babel translator to give it ungrammatical spin. I write because it allows me to let my hair down and get rid of pent-up thoughts.
I f you want to see an example of this, check out my 360 account.

I've written around 100 songs so far. The only problem is most of the melodies are still in my head. Some are country, some are folk, some are blues, and some are unknowns.

i write some blues stuff. basic I/IV/V type stuff. I really like the key of Em a whole lot. It sounds very traditional blues.
I'll not get rich at it though, Buddy Guy or BB King I am not.

I've done it here and there. I've written about summer romances, complicated girlfriends, sex, etc. I've done it just to see if I can work within the boundaries of the classic 3 minute rock and roll song. I try to keep my stuff fast, danceable, and tuneful. Sometimes it works, other times I've come up with godawful stuff.
