South to Japan? What freaky map are you using?
Australia & Japan would REALLY have a war over WHALES? That sounds really pointless. Good for you forwanting to help marine wildlife, but if this DOES happen (and I doubt it), it will be the most rediculous war ever.

I'm Australian and my great uncle lost a arm in Changi the japenese POW camp. I also share a flat on university with a Japense exchagne student and a Japenese australian. Australia and Japan shoudl not start a war over whaling. War is mearly the contiueation of politics by other means and I cannot see a clear advatage australia woudl gain in a war with japan over whales.

Err, so you prefer to save the whales than the people? I think.. depend.. I don't know what happened but the Japanese probably kill them for a reason. But still, I think it's not a good idea to start a war. But then again, if more people die, more natural resource like oil, forest, wild life and a lot others can be saved. :P
Just kidding. I have moral so still no war! ^_^
Like pamspraises's said, find mediator or negotiator or something to solve this issue. Peaceeee!!!!

Whoa there! a number of you're way earlier than yourselves. i'm Australian. At this degree, our greatest Minister Kevin Rudd, is sending Coast shield officers to the Southern Ocean on board a army deliver. the only objective is to video and image the events of the jap on board their boats, to deliver at the same time despite advice they are in a position to to take to the Whaling value at their next undertaking. Australia is by utilising no potential interested in an entire blown conflict right here, we are on the degree of having any advice that we are in a position to. If any jap boats attempt to attack or board the any Australian boat, army or governmental, the Australian army, with infantrymen and Coast shield officers will take value and dissolve the placement. in this situation, the Australian army might have the top hand because of the fact the jap wil be in Australian ruled waters and we can't take any criminality gently. This obvious contract that the yank Mr Schipper pronounced, have been discounted by utilising a senior jap expert, so it particularly would not count at this degree. the two the yank's jumped the gun, or the jap do no longer choose to be see to have becked down and for this reason, 'lose'. they are very proud human beings. with any luck, the Aussie army can seize any criminality on movie and use this to alter the winning regulations, concerning Whaling. If no damaging advice is accumulated, the Australian government might come to a type to circulate to the courts regardless. Interms of Australian dropping any conflict between the two countries, returned, it won't come to that. If it did, we would have huge backing from numerous countries international. Japan may well be dealt with very effectively. no count if Whaling will stop sooner or later, continues to be wishful questioning to a super degree. a minimum of although, greater constructive efforts are being made by utilising senior individuals at the same time with PM Kevin Rudd. With this extra help to the reason for banning Whaling, we are easily in the proper conceivable place that we've been in a protracted time, to alter this disgusting and disgraceful act of arrogance.

Having two well trained Navies clash over whales with loss of human life is utterly stupid.Rigid enforcement and embargoes plus talks betwen the two leaders of both Australia and Japan would suffice than having a shooting war over saving the whales.

Sounds good to me. I have no idea who would win but another war would take some pressure off the ??? for a while. Too many people in Japan anyway. They can send all their retired to fight and keep the others working. Would solve several problems. Reduce the old age benefit problem and give more space for the younger people. We don't need those old people anyway. If Japan wins they will have a place to send all the old that are left and let then fend for themselves.

no way they should get a license to kill whales they have been on the diet of many Japs for thousands of years. I am also a fish lover and the amount of fish killed by whales far out weighs a few whales to feed Humans

I agree. I could live without their technology to save a whale instead. I mean, it's really barbaric in the 21st century to whale. There is no need for whale meat to sustain their diets.
Jacques Cousteau would have harpooned them to a tree.
