The mustache only made him look comical though he certainly was not a funny man. How many of you realize that Hitler was part Jewish?

Yes, I think he'd be as famous. (or infamous as the case may be.)
One interesting note on moustache though:
It is widely reported that the reason Hitler sported the trademark moustache was in honor of his favorite comedian - Charlie Chaplin. True or not? You'll have to decide for yourself, but it certainly shows another side of the man. It's hard to imagine Hitler laughing or even having a favorite comedian, but there it is anyway.

Hitler and the horror that he brought to the world would be remembered with or without the mustache. He is recognized by the unique mustache, but the "little tramp" had it before Hitler did.
Actually I believe the correct word is infamous which is a negative connotation of being well known.

Who cares why Hitler shaved his moustache, his crimes against humanity and the suffering he led to displaces the reason at the back of his facial helpful factors. Sadamm Hussien had a mustache and he replace into additionally a POS.

No, we do NOT know Hitler for his mustache. A man doesn't need a mustache to annihilate nearly an entire race. Face hair isn't necessary at all to make a frightening attempt at world domination.
Hitler was cruel, demented, vicious, tyrannical, bigoted and just plain evil on every level we look at him from. His mustache didn't have anything to do with anything.
Get real.

Hitlers fame does not come from the fact he had a moustache but rather from the fact that he plunged the world into a war that claimed over 50 million lives and from his persecution and murder of over six million jews.

Hitler was not famous initially for his moustache, but his speech-making ability. Back then, not like today, HOW a leader looked wasn't as important as how he spoke. (Abe Lincoln would never have made it in today's TV world.)
Frankly, he looked like a silly little man, but Hitler made speeches that fascinated people, stirred them up, converted them to his way of thinking. Afterward though, even unbiased journalists couldn't really tell you exactly what he said, but they too felt his charisma.
His ability to mesmerize people, to have them blindly follow even though they werent' sure exactly what he was saying, was what eventually made him so famous -- and so dangerous to the world.

He would be equally infamous with or without his moustache.
He is remembered for his physical atrocities against more than 11 million people (most obviously the Jewish people) and the emotional atrocities he commited against millions of people that remain to this day. Check out places like Dachau, Auschwitz and Bergen Belsen. They are testimonies to one mad man's twisted desire and evil intent. Then check out this book to see what it was like for a survivor of this terror - "Night" by Elie Weisel.

Hitler will be infamous for many reasons - hopefully less significantly based on facial hair. He was one of the first dictators/leaders to distribute meth to his armed forces creating a much more angry force to recon with. The concentration camps were operated by men on high doses of meth - made killing easier and even enjoyable for them. He was truly a despicable man who deserved to die a slow painful death!

Hitler is not known for his mustache, he is known committing horrible atrocities against the Jewish people and others during his rule of Germany. Where do you get off saying something so completely ridiculous as he is known for his mustache?

Uhm..his mustache would've counted toward the fact that people could easily recognize face. But I don't think that is entirely the reason for his celebrity.
Hmm..Maybe the fact that he SLAUGHTERED half the world in just a few years has something to do with it also.
