Rosalyn Franklin's work on DNA helped tremendously in solving/elucidating its structure later by Watson and Creek. Unfortunately, she died at an young age having been exposed to x-rays during her research work. Otherwise, she would have definitely shared the Nobel Prize with Watson and Creek for DNA structure.

LeBlanc discovered a process where sodium chloride could be converted into sodium carbonate. The reaction is a 2 step process, where the sodium chloride is converted into sodium sulfate, and then is converted into the carbonate.
