I stopped taking Biaxin on Friday and was prescribed Levaquin on Sunday. I was told not to take the 2 together, and I'm curious as to whether the Biaxin might still be in my system.

The two meds you describe are anti-biotics and normally the issue with them is not having them in your system long enough to complete the job. They take away your symptoms early and need to continue to work, but people stop because the symptoms stop. I would say there is not much chance the two meds will meet as the daily dose you had of Biaxin is probably disapated in 24 hours.

Call your pharmacist and pose this question. They know and they are trained to tell you anything you ask pertaining to your meds.

If you are worried about a drug test then give yourself 30 days from the last time you smoked before it won't show up on a urine test. Urine tests are the most common and cheapest. Hair follicle tests are pretty uncommon, even government agencies typically only use urine tests. Hair tests generally take the most recent 1.5 inches of growth and use those for testing. That provides a detection period of about 90 days. If your hair is shorter than 1.5 inches, the detection period will be shorter. As far as "staying in your system", it's out of your blood in about 2-3 days after use in an infrequent user. Frequent use can be detected in the blood for about 2 weeks.

probably not. Biaxin you have to take twice a day, so it should be gone out of your system by now.
