Is ‘Respect’ for Authority, Discipline, Parents, Teacher’s, and even in some cases ‘self’, a dieing and forgotten quality, when it comes to both males, & females in the UK: aged 5-18? & If so, what do you feel can/or should be done about it?

it is dying due to laxity of morals and bad parenting, the government is also to blame parents are not supposed to discipline their children the normal way but to reason with them(how can you reason with a 3 yr old) they realise that they can do anything with impunity hence spoilt brats and bad behaviour. i,ll get off my soapbox now.

Discipline in schools deteriorated because teachers abused the authority that they had.

Discipline in the home deteriorated as a direct result of outside influences. Parents have been convicted in courts for being parents. That is chastising their children for wrong doing.

The UK is such a screwed up country socially, morally and judicialy. Where authority and respect have been completely lost altogether.

Respect for Authority, and disciplined/controlled behavior, is primarily from the parents, who have had the child during the most formative time (ages 0 - 5) regarding behavioral habits and expectations. Teachers have some influence, but it pales in comparison to parental influence.

Yes, respect for those in authority is dying but only because those in authority seemingly do not respect those who are dependent upon them.

True respect is earned, not gotten by coercion.

Your respect for teachers, especially your English one, appears to have been less than total. It's not 'dieing' but 'dying' dear
