Being a lesbian doesn't have a national age restriction. The reason for this is that being a lesbian has never been much of an issue here..(UK). In the eyes of the law that is. If you were a homosexual man, then life was going to be much harder. Women never suffered the same persecution because Queen Victoria never believed that two women could have that kind of relationship together and rubbished the claims as ludicrous! (happy days! hehe!!) So, believing that it was impossible in the first place, there were no laws passed as to how it should be regulated and as such women could not be punished for it!....
However, all that being said, if one is embarking on sexual escapades with another person, generally i would say the age of 16 rule should apply. This is purely for the fact that i think you should be both physically and emotionally ready before you consider sharing your body with someone else no matter what your orientation..

The law prohibiting homosexual sex until age 21 was passed in the time of Queen Victoria. Victoria could not believe that two women would ever have sex together so struck out all references to lesbianism, accordingly there is no such thing as lesbianism in the UK statute books. Ladyvaltz is dangerously incorrect as regards straight and male gay sex, both of which have a legal minimum age to be deemed consensuel.

sorry eriverpipe, but homosexual acts were illegal until the 1980s, yes Queen Victoria ahd all the sex related laws written as though males were the only offenders, Rape by females was made a specific offense in the sexual Offences Act 2001, or rather all sexual offences were written as 'gender neutral'. The fear of being 'outed' as gay was very common, and used to get people to spy and give away sensitive information, a numer of people thus threatened committed suicide. Sexual acts are legal between consenting adults over the age of 16, with certain provisos such as relationships between teachers and pupils.

Supposedly Queen Victorial was a bit of a sapphist so the concept of lesbianism isn't recognised in law. So whenever!

However I would imagine that the laws applying to assault would apply, as would the laws protecting the young - so if you were to be involved in a relationship between a pre-18 year old and someone in a position of power (eg teacher), you could get into trouble.

Lesbian sex is not recognised as a sexual act in the eyes of the law like it is with gay sex. Therefore you can do it whenever you feel ready!!

well in the uk with its new sexual offences act 2001, lesbian sex might be covered by it. (i meant if you "raped" someone) traditionally only gays are involved in the drafting of sexual offence, maybe because they actually own a potential "offensive weapon"....lol but just so you know the 2001 act might also cover lesbian sex.

otherwise legal age in the uk is 16 years old.

good luck! ;)

16 in the UK for homosexuals, the same as for straight couples. This applies to lesbians as well as gay men.

That is both partners must be at least 16 years old.

No matter whether its lesbian, gay or straight sex there is no age restriction. Although you should wait until YOU are ready don't wait or try to keep up with everyone around you. You have to do you!

Two girls can have sex at any age, but two boys, or a boy and girl, must wait til they are 16.

However, if an adult women had sex with a minor (under 16) she could be convicted for paedophilia
