You should take a couple of things into account before you make your descision.
Where do you plan on doing most of your playing?
If you plan on playing at home more, go for the 360
If you plan on gaming on the go, then the psp is for you.
Are you in the market for more than just a gaming system?
The psp can double as a media player and internet terminal
The 360 is all about the games, but you can also use it to watch dvd's.
What systems do you currently own?
The 360(premium, with live connection) can play a lot of the original xbox games that you already own
The PSP's library has portable versions of most of your ps2 favorites, and if you know how to hack it, you can use emulaqtors and roms to expand your library exponentially
What is your favorite game?
If you answered HALO, then you're only going to get that on 360
Are graphics important to you?
The 360 is the best you can get in the graphics department right now.
While the PSP is capable of some pretty impressive visuals, keep in mind that they wouldn't look nearly as good on a larger screen. The graphics on the PSP are somewhere in between PSX and PS2 quality.

I have both of the systems right now, both of them can keep you entertain but the price tag is really a problem.
If you have an HDTV, I assure you that you will like Xbox 360 so much. The graphics is amazing with HDTV, and the box is the ultimate media entertaiment in your room. Today, there isn't a vast variety of games in the market, but as time goes by, Xbox 360 true power will be unlocked.
PSP in the other hand is also a good handheld device, you will get suprised from what the handheld can deliver. Don't worry PSP is very different from GBA! PSP can play everything, music, videos, games, and surf the web via WiFi! And if you unlocked the secret power of the PSP you can even send SMS to your friends!! Cool isn't it? PSP Value Pack is around $300, then after investing $300 you still need to consider buying a $130 2GB memory stick to play movies and music on PSP.
So hardly the price is almost the same. But its up to you.

You really can't compare em since one is a console and one is a portable. It depends on your lifestyle - if you are at home alot, the 360 would probably be better since playing a game on a tiny screen gets kinda old after a while. If you take a lot of trips or are a security guard or something, go for the PSP. Myself, I'm looking into getting a PSP closer to X-mas. I'm hoping for a price drop once the holiday competition starts...

The PSP has lots of other functions. Movies, games, music, and you can connect to the internet with a wireless router. It functions just like a computer. We have both and the Xbox 360 is like a computer system. If you don't buy everything in one shot, you have to build on it.

nicely I also have a psp and it truly is great for video games and flicks on the flow, yet once you first get the psp you ought to do learn on the thank you to make complicated folders and issues to permit you to keep and watch video clips on the reminiscence card (which you besides could ought to purchase). video games on the psp are sturdy however the pictures are no longer as sturdy with the aid of fact the xbox 360. The 360 is sturdy with the aid of fact its much less confusing to play multiplayer and the pictures are astounding yet you ought to purchase assorted controllers and video games. The psp is sturdy for "on the flow" variety of stuff The xbox 360 is for great pictures and gameplay for my section i could decide for the xbox. desire that helped :)
