Well, allow me to recommend a site. http://musiciansfriend.com/ - This is where I got my new Guitar, it's the cheapest place to purchase instruments. (Even S&H Fee's) if you buy a set of drums over 200.00, S&H is free!! I paid 1,200+ for a 5 Piece Mapex Drumset at a local music store, but the same exact set + 1 tom was like 750 Bucks on that site. Good luck!! I DO recommend Mapex, Pearl, or Tama; even as a beginner it's worth putting in the extra bucks. Let me know if you need more advice on buying a set you like, I'll be glad to help you, just email me: webmaster@techbrian.com or musician_brian_2005@yahoo.com :)

Well,i dont know for sure but if you are really new to like havent even touched a drum set,you could buy it and then save up enough money for lessons or give yourself some lessons.Thats what i'd do and thats what i did do---gave myself lessons. Now i'm an awesome drum player.
