When you ask this I am assuming that when you got a hold of the motherboard there was no manual or a CD with it. Secondly, if you have never built a computer before, it would be smart to buy some books on computer building or to get with someone who has experience in doing this.

If you had a specific question about a particular connection, someone could certainly help you in this forum, however based on what you are asking, it appears that you do not have a clue as to where you should begin.

The best thing would be to download the motherboard manual. There are several different models of this motherboard. Start here http://uk.asus.com/search.aspx?searchitem=1&searchkey=A7N8X and then click on the board that is in your machine. Then click download (in left hand column). Finally click on the tab marked manual.

Look for all cables an conector on your hardware, every connector or cable goes only with it`s own so ...lats say you cannot put a SATA cable in to an IDE connector on your mainboard,be extreamly careful when puting the CPU (Processor) in the CPU socket (you should pull the leaver on the CPU socket first -insert the CPU-also look for the makers on the mainboard socket and the CPU-...a small triangle),then mount the COOLER-aply thermall grace (if there`s non on the cooler)-ships wit the cooler in the box,the rest is more or less easy
