Thoughts on the subject woulod be great. Rather than just yes/no.

Not actually to post poems--although that's anyone's prerogative--but to post questions specifically on poetry, and poets, as discreet from novels, and non-fiction. Just wondering.I think it gets "lost", and is actually very much an artform unto itself.
Particularly when you get into areas like slam....

Just a note, re: one of the answers--"Poetry" not a genre, it's an artform of its own. (And whilst you could categorise it according to subject matter, it would be unusual-more likely to be categorised by "movement" or period). It is why I posted the question. It gets treated like a genre, when it actually isn't.

Yes, I do.

So many people have questions specifically about poetry, either trying to get help identifying a poem, looking for critical help for analysis, or looking for poems about specific subjects, that I think a poetry section would be great. People that read books (prose) do not necessarily read or enjoy poetry, so I think it would be a helpful addition to the site.

I agree there should be a Poetry category.

My only misgiving would be that it would turn into a "workshop". I don't mind analyzing someone else's work because what else does a guy have but his opinion. Then there's also the danger of discouragement coming too early for those beginning writers who get eaten alive by the respondents.

Otherwise, a poetry sub-category would be great.

Yea it replaced into perplexing. he continues to be putting forward he has never taken steroids or had an affair with an underage female. So what precisely is he apologizing for? His "flaws." What does that even recommend? He quite had no longer some thing new to operate and replaced into style of speaking in circles.

I don't think so - specific poetry categories can be elaborated on in the comments area. We need a poetry subcategory like we need a subcategory under recreation for public nudity.

Yes, I think that would be a good addition. Poetry is too often slighted, even by people who love literature. It needs all the exposure and encouragement we can give it.

It couldn't hurt, but if a subcategory was made for "Poetry" then subcategories should be made for Mysteries, Science-Fiction, Fantasy, etc. also.

I wouldn't mind reading them, but I wouldn't post mine there. Too many people who would steal them and get them copyrighted themselves.
