I think they did it. A friend of mine directed me to lunaranomalies.com and they had some interesting theories, yet each of these amateur theories were disproved. Look at it this way. In 1969 the americans and the russians were locked in a desperate bid to get into orbit and ultimately the moon. "Journey beyond selene" by Jeffery Kluger brilliantly documented this. The russian premier publicly mocked the americans and their various failures at even hitting the moon with a basic rocket. Enter 1969 and the pictures of Aldrin and Armstrong on the moon. No comment from Russia. They didn't even televise it. If there was even a hint of evidence that it was faked, the russians would have been all over it like a rash. If it was faked they did a really good job. A secret like that could never be kept, and not one reputable scientist has challenged it. All we have are diehard and paranoid lay people looking for attention. If you look up Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin on the net you might find some hilarious footage of the day he left a conference to be accosted by one such person. He knocked him flat with one punch! Hilarious. Selene is the greek word for moon.

Well i heard a story about the radiation problem. Apparently there is a considerable belt of radiation between the earth and the moon, i read that it would go through most materials that were available at the time of the moon shots. Also i think its curious that at a time when people became bored with the moon landings that an amazingly gripping situation occured with Apollo13? Was this drama or real? Interesting though. I would have thought that so many more things could have been planned for the landings... Driving around in a car? Doesn't it all sound fishy? I am not saying no it didnt happen, however i am more than sceptical.

I personally don't think Australia exists. Am I crazy? Well most people in the world can logically say it does exist so im inclined to believe it does exist. I personally didn't see the moon landings but the world seems to believe it happened. Unfortunately thats not scientific. However, all the information about the landing is readily available and the only reason to believe it didnt happen is if there are holes in the information. But aha! Some people DO believe there are holes! Thus, conspiracy theories! Except the theories are all wrong.

That website has one of the good debunkings to the whole man-moon conspiracy theory. To be brief, the conspiracy relies on the idea that most people are ignorant of physics and believe a zero-atmosphere planet works the same way as Earth does.

What I'm about to tell you is classified Top Secret and it could end my career.
We were in a heated battle with the USSR to put the first man on the moon. Millions and millions$$ had been spent and nothing was going right. It was then that we decided to stage the moon landing Hollywood style. We never intended to use the footage. It was done "just in case". Then we realized we had no choice so we launched the Saturn but just let her go into Earth orbit. We aired the fake landing films. I can remeber that during one of the takes, a stage light came crashing down. This blooper can still be found on the internet. Just don't get caught with it on your computer because strange things tend to happen.

The russians wanted to do tha same but didn't because the protective magnetic field of the earth doesn't extend far enough in to space or encompass the moon, as such the moon gets any and all the Cosmic energy from the sun and any nasties out there in space. What conclusions you want to draw from this is up to you, but i find it interesting that NASA didin't test the space suits in relevant condtions such as after a nuclear test, which were still going on during the 60s.

Sadly, most people who ask this question can't be bothered to learn all the scientific, testable facts that show humans *did* visit the moon. So I won't bother repeating them (besides, several people have already pointed them out.)

Instead, I'll reply with a question. The US government, like so many other governments, has repeatedly shown that it cannot keep a secret. It's just not competent enough to limit the information. It would actually be harder to fake it than to go there for real - do you really think they're that smart?

Yes, why not. I know you are pointing to some si-fi stories and movies (like 'CAPRICORN-I') but if you take a visit at NASA and ask to see the hexagonal prisms at moon surface, they will let you to observe and see how a laser beam shot toward it will deflect from its surface back, all in 2 seconds approx. And, believe me, those hexagonal prisms don not exist from the creature stage of moon!

But, I agree that some other space experiments (esp. newer ones) are strongly doubtful.

No. There are too many evidence against it and why haven't anyone else returned to the moon since 1969?
