I propose that instead of taking a teenager with you that you stay someplace that offers some kind of baby watching services. There are lots of resorts out there that will do it.

My sister is taking care of children that age, she gets paid $250.00 for a forty hour week. I would think, depending on where you want to go on vacation that just paying her a base of that. Or maybe a little less than that with some spending money thrown in, you are paying for everything else. If you pay her enough, you won't feel guilty having her watch the kids while you and your husband actually get to relax! : ) hope this helped!

Don't be too cheap about it. Life isn't cheap these days for anybody. Pay her 20 dollars/day, since you have 2 dogs. Provided she does a good job. That's an even $100. Staying at the house is a very nice bonus. If you are a little generous your pets will definitely get better care, maybe even a few extras thrown in by the sitter and you will enjoy a very good reputation. If you are not, your pets may get only "bare-minimum service" and your place may end up missing a few things.

Well a good option is if you have any close relatives to your kids. My Aunt, who I am close too just had a baby and they are taking a vacation and want me to go. She just will buy my stuff when im with her. If you don't I think about $75-100, but it depends on how long the vacation is.

Maybe you can get a teen who will do it just for the vacation. The vacation will be there pay. If they will have some time to have fun also. You let them know up front how much time is expected of them to babysit.

I understand that you are covering the cost of the trip for her as well so I would say the amount you pay her should be determined by the time you expect her to supervise the children. Since having her there is a convenience for you, I would pay her normal rate as if she were babysitting in your home for the hours that she is solely responsible for the children. I would also explain this to her in advance and let her know that for the entire trip she needs to make herself available in the event that you need her services.

MOST TEENS WOULD NOT WANT TO DO THIS, THEY WOULD FEEL,YEAH I'M ON A VACATION? NOT, DUE TO I'M CAREING FOR 3 KIDS THAT TEND TO GET ON MY NERVES, THAT CRY AND WHINE ALL THE TIME.WHY WOULDN'T YOU PICK YOUR PARENTS OR IN LAWS TO CARE FOR THE CHILDREN?AND PAY FOR THEIR ROOM/ BOARD/ AND OTHER EXPENSESIS?TEENS WANT TO HAVE FUN, AND THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE BABYSITTING THROUGH THE SUMMER MONTH.( BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT FOR 2 MANY YEARS) AND I DID NOT ENJOY THIS.

I might also want to get a contract signed including everything that is expected of the sitter. 250-350 sounds reasonable.

I would say going on vacation is going to be fun for her also... so just give her some spending money.

I would give her 100 dollars for the whole week ahead of time. That should be over enough.
