WHAT OPERATIONS WOULD I NEED TO DO ((SOFTWARE WIZE)) TO GET BOTH COMPUTERS RUNNING ON INTERNET ACURATLY AND SAFE? I AM USING A CROSSOVER CABLE TO CONECT,...NOT A HUB. ONE COMPUTER HAS XP HOME AND THE OTHER HAS XP PRO.

Use the "Network Setup Wizard" from the Control Panel on both systems. The wizard will present you with questions to determine the appropriate way to configure the system so that you will use one computer to share the connection with the other one.

Keep in mind that you will need the sharing system on and connected to the internet anytime you want the other one to access the internet.

This is the simplest way to share a dial-up connection. If it is a broadband connection, it's better to use a hub or router so that one system is not dependant on the other for connectivity.
