suppose you want to know the percentage of 'x' expenditure out of total expenditure 'y'. you just have to multiply 'x' with 100 and divide by 'y'. you will know the percentile expenditure of 'x' out of total expenditure 'y'.

A wild guess

Percentile expenditure of something=100(Amount of expenditure of something )/(Total am mount of something)

Let say your car has a 10 gal gas tank.
You have consumed 2 gal

percentile expenditure =100(2/10)=20%

x% of y=(x/100)*y
20% expenditure of $200=(20/100)*$200=$40.
multiply the percentage of expenditure by the amount, you get the value of expenditure.
