Both my children have watched it and neither of them have speech problems. In fact, both were a bit ahead of the norm, speech-wise, during the time they enjoyed the show.

IMO, it DOES entertain children for a certain amount of time--for example, long enough to cook dinner without little hands wanting to help stir the hot stuff on the stove. And it DOES illustrate basic things like taking turns, dancing when you feel good, and exercising as a way to have fun (and that accounts for the three videos we have...the only Tubby episodes I can address).

But my pet peeve is related to one episode in particular. (I'm very happy to report the behavior in the episode has not translated into real-life for my boys.)

Anyway, in this particular episode, called "Funny Day," the Tubbies go about their day making a mess everywhere they go. They leave their bedsheets crumpled on the floor, they make a disgusting mess with their Tubby Pudding, and they break the Tubby Toast machine and end up with Tubby Toast flying around their living area and landing all over the table, chairs, and floor.

And then the Noo-Noo (the funny looking vacuum cleaner with the big red blinkie light on its butt end, for the uninitiated, LOL) cleans up while the Tubbies look on and cheer.

My problem with this episode is that it pokes fun at making a mess and suggests that the children who made the mess are not responsible for cleaning up. WRONG. Not in my house.

Yes, my kids used to howl with laughter over the mess-making but they know better in real life. Messes are inevitable with children. But we do NOT go around making things messy on purpose. And if we DO make a mess, we help clean it up. It's that simple.

All that aside, I find the Tubbies highly annoying and wouldn't be sad to see them (and Barney and his simperingly sweet groupie kids) go bye-bye for good.

Personally, I do not see what they teach other than how to speak incorrectly. The only two things more annoying than a Teletubby on t.v. are Regis Philbin and Randy Jackson.

My daughter, who is the mother of a one year old girl says that it should and will not let her watch it. She says the concept of yelling "Again, again" is not a good thing to teach little ones. I think that they will do that anyway if they like something.

I think we as people, should worry about things like, being at peace with each other, and helping people in need etc. instead of worrying about a kiddie show.

No. Its very repetitive, which helps children understand and learn.
