Is it worth the extra reading? I loved The Shining but I'm a slow reader you see.

Uncut by all means. This is a complex book, which lends itself well to re-reading.

This was one of my favorite books as a kid, and I'd read it probably 10 times before the uncut version came out. My response was, naturally, "Wow! Another 400 pages of The Stand!". Until I read the thing. King's editors were right, IMHO. The extra 400 pages don't add anything significant and only slow the story down.

The stand is a great book to read these days. Buy the uncut version, it's sooo good. The walking dude, character was very intriguing to me.

Uncut. The Stand was one of the best of King's works. You will love it.

Get the original. Believe me, it's long enough. Then if you love it you can always go get the uncut version.

i read the cut version and then discovered that there was an uncut one too. i liked the story enough to reread it so i read the uncut one the second time around. i didnt really notice any difference. its the same story. who cares if tom was riding a red bike with tassles and a bell and a basket or just a red bike?

Buy the original, and know that reading slowly will only help you absorb more of the story.

I think it's the most frightening thing he's ever written.
